ST. PEGA’S NEWSLETTER – OCTOBER/NOVEMBER

CHURCH SERVICES IN OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER 2018

These are as follows :

The first Sunday in the month is Evensong at 6.00pm led by Rev’d. Mark-Aaron Tisdale.

The second Sunday in the month is Holy Communion at 10.30am led by Rev’d. Mark-Aaron Tisdale.

The third Sunday in the month is Morning Prayer at 11.00am led by Derek Harris

The four Sunday in the month is Parish Worship at 11.00am led by Derek Harris

Everyone is welcome to come along for any of the above services

HARVEST WEEKEND – 15/16TH SEPTEMBER

The Church was beautifully decorated with flowers, fruit and vegetables and the weather was good for our Harvest Stalls in the churchyard on the Saturday – £263 was raised for church funds. The Harvest Service on the Sunday was well attended and a very big thank you to everyone who helped to decorate the church and gave so generously. The following day we took an amazing amount of 70 kilos of tins, etc. to the Food Bank!

PEAKIRK CHURCH COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT – SATURDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER

OPEN MEETING IN CHURCH

Presentations were given on the planned Projects for improvements to the Church, which were well received. Many people attended and gave their approval. Drinks and nibbles were provided afterwards.

CHORAL CONCERT HELD ON FRIDAY, 28TH SEPTEMBER

What a successful evening, over 80 people attended and Stamford Singers sang a varied selection of music. A plate of delicious refreshments was served in the interval together with a glass of wine/soft drink. We would like to thank Stamford Singers who gave up their time free of charge.  £751 was raised towards the church improvements.

 

SUNDAY, 28TH OCTOBER AT 6.30PM – ALL SOULS SERVICE

This year’s All souls Service will be held at St. Stephens in Etton. If you would like to remember your loved ones and have their name read out during the service, there is a sheet on the chest at the back of St. Pega’s church where you can add your details. You can also light a candle in their memory on the night.

BIBLE STUDY, PRAYER AND COFFEE – MONDAY, 29TH OCTOBER

The Bible Study Group is continuing to be held monthly. The next one is on Monday 29th October at 3 The Park from 7.00pm to 8.30pm, with the theme of “Women who met Jesus”. This month it is the mother-in-law. For further details please contact Sheila Lever on 01733 252416.

SUNDAY, 4TH NOVEMBER – 9.00AM – 11.00AM – ST. PEGA’S CAFE CHURCH BRUNCH

Once again it’s our Church Brunch – do come along and join us and enjoy a full English or continental breakfast, or just a cup of tea and a chat!   Further details to follow shortly.

11TH NOVEMBER – REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY SERVICE AT 10.30AM

The church bells will be rung at 11.11am to commemorate 100 years since WW1, and we are delighted to welcome the 38th Group of Glinton Cub Scouts once again. Do come and join us at our Remembrance Service.

DATE FOR YOUR DIARY

Sunday, 3rd December at 3.30pm – Christingle. The lighting of the Christmas tree in the churchyard at 4.30pm.
