FLOWERS IN CHURCH

Just a reminder that if you would like to put flowers in church in memory of a loved one, it doesn’t have to be a floral arrangement and flowers can be placed in a jug or any other container. If you would prefer to give a donation for some flowers in church on a special date, please contact Pauline Cooke on 01733 253116. There is a flower rota on the Notice Board at the back of the church by the font that has plenty of blank spaces that need filling! The church is open each day from 10.00am until 4.00pm.

BIBLE STUDY, PRAYER AND COFFEE

The Bible Study Group is continuing to be held monthly. The next one is on 23rd September at 3 The Park from 7.00pm to 8.30pm. For further details please contact Sheila Lever on 01733 252416.

FOOD BANK

Just a reminder that there is a large plastic container at the back of the church for Food Bank donations which is emptied regularly. A very big thank you to all who have generously donated – we recently handed over 35.5 kg. to the Food Bank.

UPDATE ON REPLACING ST. PEGA’S STOLEN ROOF

It was in November 2018 when congregation members looked up and noticed they could see daylight where there should have been none. So began the enormous task of raising a significant amount of money to replace the roof.

To help the Peakirk Parochial Church Council with the many difficulties involved, a Project Team was formed with a mixture of Parochial Church Council members and village volunteers. Nine months later we wish to say a big ‘THANK YOU’ to everyone who has been so generous with both time and donations to enable the construction of the new roof to commence in sections from the end of September 2019.

Out of adversity has come forth outstanding acts of support and generosity to enable our 1,000+ year old church to face a secure (and watertight) future.
