St Pega’s Patronal Service – 6pm 15th Jan 2023
St. Pega’s Patronal Service at 6.00pm
Sunday, 15th January 2023 Led by Reader Derek
You are warmly invited to join us in celebrating the life of St. Pega in a special informal service.
A hymn, composed in Latin in St. Pega’s honour by a 13th century monk of Crowland Abbey, will be performed by Dr. Samatha Graper, who is back by popular request. It’s English translation and short vignettes from her life will also be read.
In medieval times, the Crowland brethren used to commemorate St. Pega’s Day with a feast and extra beer rations. Unfortunately we cannot compete with this but we will be serving light refreshments after the service instead! (Refreshments are kindly donated by Bats in Churches Trust)
There will be information about the St Pega’s bat colony, a review of our church activities in 2022 and looking forward to 2023.
We will also be launching our new Guide Book, which will be available at £5 per copy. It contains the history and full colour photographs of our historical and important church.
Everybody is welcome to attend – do come along to our special event
